Understanding the Purpose of Coaching and Mentoring

You more than likely heard people mention coaching and mentoring, or browsed articles regarding the results people have gained by hiring a coach or mentor. But what can you really expect? In order to know of the advantages of these coaches and mentors, you must first understand the purpose. Often people believe that the purpose of these coaches is to order you around and to brow beat you into accomplishing it. In reality, the goal is not to order you what to do – but to help you realize what it is you should be doing.
